The Report: Weekly Highlights of the Fragrance World: April 19 - 25

I know this week that Fragranceman.com was lacking in FYIs this week. What can I say, my week was in turmoil. However, I was still reading news from my sources, other fragrance blogs and electronic beauty magazines, to see what's happening in the fragrance world. Well, I found some very interesting news this week. Read the following information for this week's "The Report":

  • Aramis has brought back a classic.The body shampoo on the rope has returned to the market.
  • Bond No. 9 introduces Swarovski Stars. The Scent of Peace, Chelsea Flowers and Nuits de Noho will be house in limited-edition Swarovski crystallized 50 ml bottles. The limited-edition will be available just in time for Mother's Day.
  • Beauty Contact will be launching a line of fragrances called Madonna Nudes 1979. This line represents Madonna's early career as a nude model.
  • Benefit, owned by LVMH, will launch a new line of fragrances called Crescent Row. This line will be three scents modeled after three fictional characters and their neighboring apartments. The trio are Laugh With Me LeeLee, "a 'fun and feminine' woody floral;" Something About Sofia, "a 'free-spirited' oriental;" and My Place or Yours Gina, "a “provocative” fragrance." They are expected to be launched in July.
  • Chanel opens a freestanding beauty store in Tokyo. The 1506 square-foot store will carry the fashion and beauty house's full range of cosmetic, fragrance and skin care items.
  • Danny Seo, an “environmental lifestyle expert,” has launched a new eco-friendly line of beauty products called Wholearth Beauty + Bath. The collection also includes three organic certified fragrances: Wholearth No. 4, No. 7 and No. 10. Wholearth No. 4 is a spicy fragrance; Wholearth No. 7 is fruity; and Wholearth No. 10 is a fresh scent. Available as 1.7 oz bottles for $65.00 each.
  • Express LLC has launched a new fragrance for men, Express Reserve. Created by Richard Herpin of Firmenich, it is a woodsy and spicy fragrance.
  • Michael Kors is coming out with a new scent called Very Hollywood Michael Kors. It is expected to be released in September. It is a floral scent.
  • The Scented Salamander reported that LVMH decided to discontinue Fendi Palazzo earlier this year. It didn't meet expectations.
