The Banana Republic, a retail brand of Gap, Inc., will launch Republic of Men and Republic of Women in September. These new scents are for the urban sporty crowd. Simon Kneen, Banana Republic’s executive vice president of design and creative director, said to WWD, "It sits within the Banana Republic family — from a fragrance point of view — and [is meant to] appeal to a sportier, khaki-pants guy and white-shirt girl. It’s a very accessible perfume, the kind of thing everyone should have in their tote or messenger bag in the urban adventure of today.” Republic of Men is an eau de toilette, and it begins with clementine, plum, and fig leaf. Its middle notes are ambac, rosemary, basil, sage and freshly crushed hazelnut, and it dries down to sandalwood, cedar wood and skin musks. According to WWD, the women's version is an eau de parfum "that has top notes of sweet osmanthus, juicy lychee and spicy bergamot. The heart of the scent includes peony, pink jasmine and Moroccan rose, and it dries down into a base of soft musks and precious woods." Republic of Women will cost $48 and the men's scent will be available for $45. These fragrances will be exclusively sold in the Banana Republic. Source: WWD
