What's happening in the fragrance world this week? Perfume houses who have created some of the world's most beloved fragrances have launched or will be launching new scents. Robert Piguet reintroduces a fragrance with a cult following. DKNY is entering in the pop art world with Be Delicious. Finally, watchmaker Nooka will develop its first scent. For more details, read "The Report" below.- According to CosmeticWorld.com, Robert Piguet Parfums relaunched Futur. First appearing in the 1960s and having a cult following, this fragrance will appear exclusively at London's Harrods. It will come to the U.S. in late fall.
- Celebrating Fahrenheit's 21st birthday, Dior will launch a new fragrance in this scent's line. Called Fahrenheit Absolute, it has the same notes as the original Fahrenheit but it is more intense. It will be available in August, and it will sell for €58.32 for a 50ml bottle and €80.85 for a 100ml bottle.
- Chanel's newest perfume, Cristalle Eau Verte, is now available! Chanel describes this scent as a "modern fragrance masterpiece." According to the high-end beauty, fashion and fragrance house, "CHANEL master perfumer Jacques Polge re-imagines the beloved classic in a lighter, fresher version, to reveal a sheer and luminous heart. Magnolia notes are rendered transparent with fresh citrus and Neroli accents, for a modern expression of a timeless floral bouquet." It is available as a 3.4 oz eau de toilette concentree for $105. It can currently be found on chanel.com.
- DKNY's Be Delicious will be available as a "Pop Art Limited Edition." According to Basenotes.net, "DKNY Be Delicious has brought a splash of green to early autumn with their latest limited edition. The apple inspired scent, presented in an apple shaped flacon has been re-packaged in the style of pop art. The iconic 20th century movement is the inspiration behind the ben-day dots and speech balloons, as well as the comic book style illustrations that [are featured] on the packaging, bottle and in the ad campaign."
- Guerlain will introduce Idylle in September. The primary notes for this perfume are Bulgarian roses and the Plessis Robinson rose. It is also composed of patchouli, white musk, lily-of-the-valley, lilac, peony, freesia and jasmine. It will be available as a 30ml, a 50ml and a 100ml eau de parfum.
- Nina Ricci will launch Ricci Ricci in August in the European market. It will debut in the U.S. in 2010. The floral scent begins with rhubarb zest and bergamot; its heart is belle de nuit, Indian tuberose and centifolia rose; and it dries down to sandalwood and patchouli. It will be available in three sizes as an eau de parfum -- 30ml for €41 ($57.75), 50ml for €59 ($83.10) and 100ml for €79 ($111.30).
- Paul Smith Man will be appearing on retailers' shelves in August internationally and in September in the U.S. The scent is a spicy-woody-floral fragrance; this blend makes it warm and sensual. The cologne is comprised of yuzu, bergamot, anise, patchouli, incense, orris, violet and tonka bean. Paul Smith Man will be available in three sizes -- 30ml for £24 ($39.50), 50ml for £34 ($56) and 100ml for £48 ($79).
- Watchmaker Nooka will launch its first fragrance in the near future. Called Nooka, this scent for men and women features Japanese yuzu, vintage leather, pink pepper, coriander, tonka bean, gloss paper accord, Ithaca cypress bark, musk and pink sand accord notes. It will retail for $80 for a 2.5 oz bottle.
